Hi, my name is Jin Son. I am an experienced and creative graphic designer with a strong interest in publication design and environmental graphic design. I’m currently looking for opportunities to work on projects that promote art, culture, community, and education. My work reflects a passion for typography, as well as a process that often incorporates playfulness, language, and humor. I enjoy working on complex projects with multiple components, including identity systems, books, environmental graphics, and websites.
I received a BS in psychobiology at UCLA in 1996. While working at a psychiatric and policy research center, I discovered an interest in graphic design. I returned to school and received a MFA in graphic design at CalArts in 2006. After graduating, I worked at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for more than 6 years on major exhibitions, art books, magazines, and marketing. Currently, as a freelancer, I’ve worked with Art Center College of Design, Skirball Cultural Center, The Loh Down on Science, and CalArts.
In my positions as senior designer and freelance designer, I also have experience managing projects, budgets, art directing, leading design presentations, and production.
Send me an email if you have a project you’d like to discuss. Thanks for visiting my website!
